Design and Operating Data Parameters
The following are operating and design data parameters utilized by the Membrane Alarm System and Automated Reporter, MASAR®.
Each record data set must contain at least the parameters listed under Required Data,
in order for MASAR®'s database and operating system to produce the desired output and for all system features to function properly. The required parameters are the same as required by the industry-standard normalization technique (ASTM D 4516 Method - Standard Practice for Standardizing Reverse Osmosis Performance Data), which is the basis for all normalization programs available mainly from the membrane manufacturers (see footnote below). Also required is a set of train/stage design projection data (all parameters listed under I. plus the projected product flow and salinity). These will be used as the basis for normalization of data (i.e. Standard Conditions); they should represent the average
actual current conditions as much as possible, according to ASTM D 4516. The following parameters apply to all membrane processes: Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nanofiltration (NF), Ultrafiltration (UF) and Microfiltration (MF), except as noted.
