Design and Operating Data Parameters
The following are operating and design data parameters utilized by the Membrane Alarm System and Automated Reporter, MASAR®.
Each record data set must contain at least the parameters listed under Required Data,
in order for MASAR®'s database and operating system to produce the desired output and for all system features to function properly. The required parameters are the same as required by the industry-standard normalization technique (ASTM D 4516 Method - Standard Practice for Standardizing Reverse Osmosis Performance Data), which is the basis for all normalization programs available mainly from the membrane manufacturers (see footnote below). Also required is a set of train/stage design projection data (all parameters listed under I. Required Parameters plus the projected product flow and salinity). These will be used as the basis for normalization of data (i.e. Standard Conditions); they should represent the average
actual current conditions as much as possible, according to ASTM D 4516. The following parameters apply to all membrane processes: Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nanofiltration (NF), Ultrafiltration (UF) and Microfiltration (MF), except as noted.
